Eca is excited to finally be moving forwards. Lots of celebration!
More adventures await on the horizon including a journey towards Stars funding. In terms of her research plan she has lost track of which year this will be!
More mist. More ideas condense. Hopefully this feeds the fields of new adventures and journeys on the way.
Her stable team size of 4-5 PhD students has been supplemented by a post-doc or two. She has become the kung foo panda for multitasking and is now drowning in 4* manuscripts (whatever that precisely means), admin, and mentoring while maintaining her teaching action plans and evaluations.

Eca would like to thank you for choosing these options to have reached a positive set of future possibilities.
She would like to invite you to watch this space for the next round of choose-your-own adventures from future variations. Eca also realises this could very well change the minute any new relevant funding call is announced and the whole adventure will change at the drop of a hat. Even just 3 years is hard to plan for. That’s tough for a control freak!
Note: The author loves her research, teaching, writing (obviously since she found time to write this!) and mentoring her team (at least she hopes that's how they see it!). But some days are genuinely difficult, as I'm sure others will agree. The process of writing a plan does seem somewhat humorous when there is so little chance of funding and when most calls come up with short notice. It is the author's hope that others will empathise with the irony in the story, or will see they are not alone in this uncertain world.
P.S. The author has also realised that typing “adventure” is quite difficult when she writes “adventitious” all the time!
