  • The adventures of Eca
    • Part 1: setting the scene
    • Part 2: setting the scene

Success!

Picture
Eca wakes. It’s dark. 6 months have passed since the Fellowship of the Ring submitted their application and now winter and short days are upon the northern hemisphere. Yawning she checks her email (addicted as she is to her mobile).
Blinking, she re-reads the first email in her inbox. Could it be? No. she’s still dreaming. Having washed her face and deciding she is awake, she checks again. It can’t be. It is! OMG! The Fellowship of the Ring have been funded!
 WOOP WOOP!

After some MAJOR celebrations, Eca has a temporary reprieve from grant proposals while this new adventure unfolds and this project is set up (and spring teaching semester unfolds). Eca’s lab gains a person from the Ring; networking meetings begin, and travel arranged for the first part of the adventure.
Land ahoy! Some land at last after being at Sea (in the deep end!) for several years.
Picture
Eca becomes a multitasking machine! Along with setting up the new project, she is maintaining her existing PhD student projects, undergrad projects, and continuing to recruit new students.
Land ahoy? Or maybe sail-O as ships begin to pass in the night?

Either way the Ring project gets underway and between teaching and supervision the next round of grants await!
